Jaber AlAhmad central Library was established in the Academic year 2001/2002 in Shuwaikh campus.  The library houses the collections of college of Administration, Social Science, and Law.  Later on, the Law collection was transferred to a separate building.  Currently, the library holds the collections of the college of Business Administration and Social Sciences as well as the periodicals collection of the faculty of Arts  

The library consists of three departments:

• Acquisition Services department that is responsible for ordering library materials and subscribing in electronic information sources.

• Information Services Department is responsible for offering information and research services to the library users.

• Special collection department consists of both manuscripts and United Nations collections.
